Lavender incense bundles: Lavendle originally comes from Europe and is often used for the invitation of the Spirit. The name may be derived from the Latin lavare (wash) or livendula (~ blue colored). In ancient times lavender was used as an important herb in the mummification process. There is a legend that the clothes of baby Child Jesus were laid on a bush and so the bush got the scent. Lavender is the right choice when Smudging as protection against the not good energies.
Cedar is often used as a generic term for a variety of trees and shrubs. The well-known of these are are Cedrus, Thuja, Juniperus and Libdocedrus. Juniper / juniper does not count science indeed to be representative but be of use to many people. Please note that the scientific names in the tradition do not always have the main importance for the people, it often counts the experience and tradition and the purpose associated with it.
